The South Beach Diet Review

The South Beach Diet is one of the several weight loss diets that have surfaced in recent years and promises to make you lose weight fast. The responses to this particular diet are mixed. There are some people who swear by the goodness of this diet and how it had helped them to lose much weight. And there are other people who just despise this diet, especially the initial phase that makes them feel extremely tired and fatigued. The south beach diet is known to be a low-carb diet which has made many to call it a fad diet. However, people who have largely benefitted from this diet refuse to call it a fad diet and instead tells us that this diet is much better than the famous Atkins Diet. Well, most diets in this world are better than the Atkins Diet!!

Those who want to go for this diet are expected to eat lean meat, eggs, seafood, low-fat dairy products, various kinds of nuts and nearly all kinds of vegetables. They can also consume artificial sweeteners and low glycemic content carbohydrate foods
. The diet consists of an initial shock phase when all the fruits and vegetables along with all the carbohydrates are banned. This has made many dieters complain of extreme low levels of energy and fatigue. However, it seems more of a genetic problem rather than a problem with the south beach diet.

The good thing about this diet is that it removes the simple carbohydrates commonly found in sweets, breads and pasta and replaces them with complex carbohydrates that we get from whole grain breads and vegetables. The only factor that makes this diet look like a fad diet is the worst kind of marketing technique that promises to make you lose weight incredibly fast. This coupled with the first portion of diet that bans carbs and healthy fruits and vegetables completely to make you lose your water weight, so that you start to believe in all that marketing hype.

The second part of the diet consists of some healthy eating tips and recipes which are all very sensibly written by the author. They are effective and indeed very good. There are also pre-packaged South Beach Diet foods available for those who don’t have time to cook the recipes provided by the author. Overall, the South Beach Diet is quite a good idea if you choose to ignore the mediocre marketing hype and also the first part of the diet. Follow the second part and you’re bound to see some good results!
